How about we start with Budgeting and Cost control, shall we? :) I know, I know budgeting and cost control may be a boring topic but hey someone has to do it so let’s go right in.
In today’s session we will be having Gareth B, the cost control hero. (Please excuse the glitches because of the dodgy internet connection, still it’s a nice and informative talk I promise.) Don’t miss it!

Gareth works for BAE Systems, the third largest defense company in the world. They handle projects across the maritime, air, land and cyber security sectors.
He is from the maritime sector and is interested in the people side of project management, including leadership, recruitment, retention, motivation and reward of the actual people who are involved in the project rather than the physical activities that come with the project. One thing that Gareth emphasized is the importance of having a skilled team for the project to be successful. Gareth also shared the importance of doing an apprenticeship and being able to really learn the core competencies by heart because these will be your foundation to help you perform better in the actual world of project management.
As you know, budgeting and cost control has 7 criteria. Hear Gareth talk about each one also sharing the techniques and approaches that helped him at work and as well as tips for those struggling with certain competencies.
Gareth will also answer questions from followers and give his honest opinion on how to best deal with certain situations.
Let’s face it no matter how boring budgeting and cost control can be, we all have to go through it and you cannot deny how essential it is to become the best project manager in the business.
